Molecular aspects of cellular function; properties of biomolecules, their biosynthesis and breakdown; structure and function of proteins and enzymes, metabolites, membranes and nucleic acids; cellular mechanisms of energy transduction; integration and control of cell metabolism. Experiments cover a variety of modern techniques in biological chemistry.
