PSYCH 30000: Physiological Psychology

Prerequisites: ENGL 12000 and (PSYCH 24900 or PSYCH 25000) and PSYCH 22400. Only open to PSYCH BA, MHC PSYCH BA majors.

Hours: 3.0 Lecture hours
This is a basic neuroscience course that will first introduce the building blocks of the central nervous system namely, the structure and function of neurons, brain neuroanatomy, basic neuropharmacology and different research methods to study the brain. We will then move and explore functional aspect of the brain, e.g. the processing of sensory information, learning and memory and decision-making. We will also discuss how neural activity is transformed into behavior.
