Process representation and control. Uniprocessor scheduling. Process synchronization: critical section problem, synchronization mechanisms, algorithms, language constructs, classical synchronization problems: issues of safety, liveness, and fairness. Deadlocks. Memory management and virtual memory. File management. I/O management and disk scheduling.
