BIO 3010: Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy

Prerequisite: BIO 3001 (2020) and Biological Sciences Plan or (Liberal Arts Ad Hoc Plan with Biology Sub-Plan) or Natural Sciences Minor.

Hours: 2.0 Lecture hours, 4.0 Laboratory hours
The structure and function of vertebrate organ system are discussed with reference to evolutionary and development history. Laboratories include macroscopic study of these systems through dissection of shark and cat and microscope examination of selected histological preparation of tissues. An individual report combines laboratory observation with literature and internet research.
