Credits: 3
Hours: 3.0 Lecture hours
This is a basic neuroscience course that will first introduce the building blocks of the central nervous system namely, the structure and function of neurons, brain neuroanatomy, basic neuropharmacology and different research methods to study the brain. We will then move and explore functional aspect of the brain, e.g. the processing of sensory information, learning and memory and decision-making. We will also discuss how neural activity is transformed into behavior.
This course was last offered in the Spring 2015 semester.
